As Legal Director of the Planning, Environment and Local Government team Alice provides skilled and professional advice and representation for local government and private clients on a wide range of NSW and ACT planning, environmental and administrative law matters.Alice is a pragmatic and practical problem solver who works in partnership with her clients to deliver ‘on ground’ results. She enjoys providing strategic advice on how best to achieve her client’s goals, and specialises in providing advice on the meaning and requirements of environmental and planning legislation and instruments. Alice also provides advice and assistance in planning and environmental compliance matters and prosecutions and local government practice and procedure. Alice is experienced in alternative dispute resolution and litigation, including in the ACAT and the Land and Environment Court of NSW and the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.Alice is a NSW Accredited Specialist in Planning and Environment Law and holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science (Environment and Resource Management) and a Masters of Laws in Environmental Law from the Australian National University. Alice joined the team at BAL in 2011 after working at a large national firm providing procurement, probity and contracting advice to Commonwealth and State Governments. Alice was promoted to Director in July 2020 and Legal Director in July 2021.
