Alex Brown’s clients rely on him to litigate complex commercial disputes in court and arbitration, as well as defend them in FTC and state AG investigations.Alex focuses his complex commercial litigation and investigations practice on high-stakes antitrust, consumer protection, data privacy, cybersecurity, and telecommunications matters. Alex has spent more than a decade representing corporate plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts, including class actions and multidistrict litigation, as well as arbitration (international and domestic), and before the International Trade Commission. He also focuses his practice on representing clients navigating FTC, DOJ, and state attorney general investigations. Alex leverages this experience to counsel large corporations, national membership organizations, nonprofits, and smaller companies in a variety of areas, including commercial disputes, intellectual property licensing, and compliance with antitrust, telecommunications, consumer protection, data privacy, and cybersecurity regulations and guidelines.Before joining Alston & Bird, Alex completed a fellowship with the Office of the Georgia Capital Defenders, where he represented clients facing the death penalty at trial and on appeal.
