Alan F. McCormick graduated with honors from the University of Montana School of Law in 2002. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Horticulture (1991) and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning (1993), both earned at Virginia Tech. After completing his graduate studies, he achieved professional certification in land use planning by the American Institute of Certified Planners in 1996.
Following law school, Alan clerked for Judge James R. Browning of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco before entering private practice with Garlington, Lohn and Robinson, PLLP in 2003. He is admitted to practice before Montana state courts, the United States District Court for the District of Montana, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
